Hi, I’m Shelly!

Hi, I am Shelly!

In November 2017, with my second granddaughter on the way, I stepped into The Village Shoppe to buy her a gift. The owner, Gladys Quilter, had just posted signs that The Village Shoppe was closing after over 40 years in business. As a teenager, I had dreamed of owning my own clothing boutique. I knew immediately that I wanted to purchase the shop and carry on the tradition in West of multiple generations shopping together in this downtown boutique. Having moved to West twenty years prior, I had come to love and appreciate this little town, full to the brim with traditions and rich heritage.

Since reopening in October 2018, I have been welcomed by the local residents, and I am thankful to be part of this community.  Several other clothing boutiques have opened over the past few years and joined florists, gift shops, antique stores and now a co-op complete with our own Coffee Bar.

The Village Shoppe has traditionally carried clothing & accessories for women & children. We still honor the vison of the orginal owners and their love for family and, we have expanded our clothing to suit women of multiple generations and styles. We have clothing for women who have families. Women who are working full-time, part-time, CEO’s of their homes, and/or retired. With more women juggling jobs and, active children who are involved in many extracurricular activities, we are finding that we need trendier casual clothing that is expressive and comfortable.

At The Village Shoppe, we encourage women to dress based on their own personal styles. We are each unique, created by God as one-of-a-kind. We enable women to be true to themselves and dress in ways that they feel good in and look good in. We uplift women and girls. We value them, care for them, inspire them, and connect with them. We sell clothes that make them feel beautiful. We pride ourselves in our customer service. We are here to help you navigate the search, whether you need a complete wardrobe overhaul or if you just need a specific piece to go with something you already have. We are here to serve our customers.
